The Archipelago Trail

The Archipelago Trail is with it's 220 km one of Denmark's longest hiking trails that encircles the archipelago. The Archipelago Trail has a varied terrain through a unique cultural landscape with beautiful natural areas, farm houses, villages and market towns that are influenced by the area's fascinating cultural history. There are views overlooking the archipelago that contains the small island communities and is an internationally recognized bird area.

The Archipelago Trail is a hiking path reserved for hikers and is signposted all the way with poles and pictograms of our hikers.

The Archipelago Trail comes by Broholm Castle on rute 3: Svendborg-Broholm-Lundeborg.

Lundeborg Harbor & Beach

With only 4 km to Lundeborg, there is no excuse for not enjoying a fresh morning dip. Lundeborg is a small cozy harbor with lovely sandy beaches and a really good icecream stall. There are several restaurants, including "Pakhusgårdens Brasserie". It is possible to walk via The Archipelago Trail to Lundeborg on a route of approximately 8 km.

Fishing & Sailing

There are great opportunites to fish close to Broholm Castle. Our guides can arrange tours in many different variations: for the beginners and the practiced. Much of the year, sea trout and flatfish are fished from the many coasts of Funen, and close to the Harbor in Svendborg there are mackerel and hornfish in addition in the summer. It is also an option by pre-order to fish for pikes in the moat and lake around Broholm Castle.

Hunting

Ground rental
The estate rents out hunting areas with deer, roe deer, ducks, pheasants and other small ones.

The hunt is currently leased to two consortia, a consortium for the lands around the Manor House, and a consortium for the forest near Svendborg.

Day hunts
Day hunting is offered for up to 12 people at the castle lake around Broholm and at "Lillesøen".

Program:
At 09.00 AM Meeting place at reception/courtyard. Breakfast and introduction to hunting camps at Broholm
At approx. 09.30 AM First location and hunting at Broholm
Short hike to another location and hunting at "Lillesøen"
At approx. 01.00 PM Parade in the courtyard
At approx. 01.30 PM Lunch at the castle and closing

Broholm is responsible for clappers and dog people. Expected shooting up to 100 ducks.

The hunt is well suited as a company hunt and can be bought for a total of DKK 20.000,- all inclusive for a maximum of 10 people.

Shot ducks are settled DKK 50,- per duck. There is no 3 shot rule.

Registration for individuals is welcome for DKK 2000,- per person.

"Damestenen" (The Lady Stone)

Denmark's largest block is Damestenen, located between Hesselager and Vormark on East Funen about 8 minutes by car from Broholm Castle. The stone measures 46 m in circumference, has a visible height of 10 meters and weighs close to a 1000 ton.

Egeskov Castle

Egeskov Castle is located in Kværndrup only 18 minutes by car from Broholm Castle. Here, activities and exhibitions are enough to make an entire day go by. Experience exhibitions such as Camping and Outdoor, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and planes, Rescue Museum, Grocer's Museum and much more. It is also possible to visit the castle, the labyrinth, several playgrounds on the ground and in heights, the large park, several restaurants and much more. Read more here.

Gorilla Park Svendborg

Gorilla Park Svenborg is located in Stenstrup, a town just outside Svendborg, with only 25 minutes drive from Broholm Castle. Enjoy a wonderful day outdoors with lots of activities for both adults and kids. Let go and experience the wild rush at a height of 26 meters. As something very special, Gorilla Park's facilities in Svendborg offer 8 climbing paths, all of which provide challenges for the climbing enthusiast of all sizes. In Svendborg downtown about 17 minutes by car south of Broholm Castle you will find Naturama. At Naturama you can experience giant whale skeletons, hundreds of birds, polar bears, wolves and wild boar. All set up as a total experience with light, sound and film.
